QHSE Manager - Best Practices

How did you evolve within Cromology ?

I’m an Environmental Engineer with a Master’s degree in Occupational Safety Engineering from my native country, Brazil. At the beginning of 2022, a few months after my arrival in France, I joined Cromology as a QHSE coordinator on a work-study master’s degree.
I worked directly with the teams at the Champagné production site, alongside the site manager, who was very involved in workplace safety issues.

I worked on ensuring that the equipment and emergency plans were appropriate, as well as coordinating and training the 43-strong team on site.
In 2022, the “ATEX” initiative was launched following the acquisition of Cromology by DuluxGroup : this is the European directive governing equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and the safety of workers.
The Group decided to go beyond the regulations and align itself with DuluxGroup standards, which are stricter than European norms. As a result, I have taken ATEX and First Aid training, both useful in my day-to-day work.
Since September 2022, I’ve been QHSE Manager in charge of Good Practices at group level; in particular, I’m responsible for implementing the safety standards linked to the prevention of fatalities and disasters in all our sites in Europe and Morocco.
On a day-to-day basis, I liaise with HSE teams and site managers. I set up audits and draw up action plans in coordination with the teams.

My job is also to pass on all the rules relating to these standards in a pedagogical way, and to do this I work with the training teams to create E-Learning modules in particular. I’ve also worked on setting up a safety induction program for all our new employees.

What do you like in your job ?

I’m very proud of my position and my career within the Group. I like the international scope of my job and the freedom of action offered by my management to set up new projects.
Finally, it’s very satisfying to be able to make a concrete contribution to the development of our production and logistics sites and our sales networks in order to guarantee ever greater safety for our employees.
